Brand films for your business: process, timeline, cost — honestly explained

A good brand film shows in ninety seconds what your company stands for — real people, real spaces, real work. Here is what it costs, how long it takes and how to recognise quality.

What does a brand film cost?

A professional brand film for a mid-sized company usually ranges from a mid four-figure to a low five-figure amount. The deciding factors are shooting days, locations, drone footage and editing effort. A fixed price after a short briefing is the serious approach — hourly rates without a defined outcome are a warning sign.

Why moving images are the strongest proof of trust

Photos show what it looks like. A film shows what it feels like: the view into the production hall, the team at work, the owner’s voice. That is why film works wherever trust decides the purchase — in B2B as much as in hospitality. For Mindener Stahlhandel GmbH we filmed their BAMTEC reinforcement technology on site: no archive material, the real machines in real operation. You can see the result in our case studies.

How does a brand film production work?

A brand film production runs in five steps: concept and script (what should the film achieve?), shoot planning with dates and locations, one or two shooting days on site, editing with music and colour grading, and a feedback round with final adjustments. From commissioning to the finished film usually takes four to eight weeks.

The shooting day: less disruption than you think

Our clients’ most common worry: “This will paralyse our operations.” It will not. A well-planned shooting day runs alongside normal business — we work with a small crew, no forest of floodlights, and capture the strongest moments from the ordinary working day. Employees simply doing their job always look better on film than staged scenes.

How long should a brand film be?

The main cut of a brand film should be 60 to 120 seconds — long enough for a story, short enough for online attention spans. What matters is the tailoring: one shooting day also yields short versions for social media, the website and trade fairs alongside the main film.

Drone: the perspective that sticks

Aerial footage gives a film scale — the company premises, the lakeside location, the construction site from above. We fly with our own licence and take care of permits. Worth knowing: not everyone is allowed to fly everywhere. Whoever offers drone footage should be able to show the licence.

What separates a good film from an interchangeable one

You recognise interchangeable brand films by stock material, generic background music and drone shots with no relation to the company. A good film needs a stance: what should the viewer think about you after ninety seconds? If that question is not answered before the shoot, even the best camera will not help.
